How to Get Started

Animal Mortality Coverage

We have two different options with our mortality insurance.  You can choose to have limited mortality coverage, at a lower rate, or full mortality.  The definitions are listed below.

Limited Mortality
protects you against any loss as a result of a covered peril, including: fire, lightning, windstorm, hail, theft, collision and upset while in transit, accidental shooting, and drowning.
We will then pay the agreed value of the animal if death was caused by one of the perils listed on the policy.  This policy is a stand alone policy and cannot have additional coverages added to it.

Mortality Coverage  is available for the more expensive animals, including cattle, club calves, horses, 4H or FFA animals. This coverage would pay the agreed value if your livestock dies from any natural or accidental cause.

It also includes Emergency Colic Surgery Expense that will pay half the value of the horse or up to a maximum of $2,500 at no additional charge on horses.

The two products listed below may be added by endorsement only.

         Major Medical

This coverage helps with the unexpected veterinarian fees or unforeseen events covering:
           • Reasonable and customary medical and surgical expenses of a licensed veterinarian
necessitated by an accident, injury, illness or disease.
           • Medications are covered if they are given in the result of an accident, injury, sickness
or disease and are not excluded under the coverage form.

Major Medical coverage is offered with a $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000 limit with a deductible
          of $250.

(This endorsement does not cover routine or preventative examinations.)

       Loss of Use

Loss of Use is provided if the animals is no longer able to fulfill their
functions, yet do not need to be destroyed for humane reasons.
This covers up to 60% of the insured value for horses but is currently not available for cattle

Transit Coverage

If you make your living off of  transport feeder, stocker or slaughter livestock, you should take a look at Livestock Transit Coverage. This coverage will give you piece of mind knowing your livestock has
hit the road with and your financial well-being well protected.
